Trevor Quincy, our new astrologer, ill each month analyse what the stars have in store for you and the world. This month Trevor shows us how Saturn transitting out of Aquarius in March has shape-shifted everyone’s prospects and why TikTok, launched between Virgo and Libra, has been in hot water with the regulators in the US and UK over the past few weeks.
March was such a huge energy shift for most individuals as a major planetary hitter, Saturn, changed signs on the 7th of the month. Saturn has been in the water-bearing Aquarius for the last two years; bringing restrictions, limitations, challenges, and obstacles to originality, friends, groups, network circles, large organisations, and the execution of future endeavors.
Of course, this energy manifested differently for everyone depending on the individual’s Ascendant or Rising. The fixed signs in particular, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, have felt these challenges within their foundational houses (Houses 1, 4, 7, and 10), thus resulting in harsher lessons and a dimmed outlook of the future; however, it is not tears and struggle for long.
It was very important that everyone, especially those with fixed placements, learned the lessons from Saturn in Aquarius. Once Saturn transited out of Aquarius and into the mysterious waters of Pisces, it gave everybody a 16-day recess from Aquarius transits.
Coming from a Cancer Ascendant, the break from Aquarius transits was amazing, I did not have one placement in my eighth house.
Of course, all good things came to an end as Pluto transited out of Capricorn and into Aquarius on March 23rd. Throughout March, TikTok came under fire as the US Government considered placing a ban on the social media app. You may be thinking; didn’t the Trump administration try to ban TikTok a couple of years ago? In 2020, President Donald Trump told reporters, “As far as TikTok is concerned, we’re banning them from the United States”, and “Well, I have the authority” to underpin the decision.
So why is TikTok constantly under fire with the US government? And in early April the social media platform was fined £12.7m by the UK watchdog for misusing children’s data.
Is it really because of data security or is there something more? To find out more information, we will take a look at its astrological makeup. TikTok is owned by ByteDance, a Chinese internet technology company, in which was founded on March 13th, 2012. TikTok would go on to be launched internationally four years later, in September 2016, though the specific date is unclear. This would make TikTok either a Virgo or Libra Sun.
Personally, it would make more sense if TikTok was a Virgo and not a Libra. TikTok is a place where people can learn new things about any topic in a quick fashion. This resembles the Mercurial nature that rules Virgo energy. Also, people on TikTok can be highly critical and naggy if something is not to their liking; these happen to be shadow traits of most Virgos.
Lastly, there is a lot of hidden information being brought to light on TikTok. This information can vary from how to better your life to the current system’s flaws. Also, people tend to escape their mundane responsibilities to access such information.
Astrologically speaking, this energy of escapism and things that are hidden belongs to Pisces. Pisces and Virgo belong to the same axis in astrology, thus requiring balance between physical and spiritual development. Saturn would have transited Virgo’s 6th House of Aquarius; causing issues, conflicts, and disputes with large organisations, big businesses, and the government in regards to service, development, routines and schedules, health, data, and mundane responsibilities.
Isn’t it ironic that one of the leading issues in consideration of the ban deals with data security? What if TikTok ended up being a Libra? Libra deals with relationships, partnerships, interpersonal connections, business, business contracts, marriage, and union. The social aspect of Libra could definitely be highlighted as TikTok opens the door for anyone to interact with others from across the globe, within seconds.
Libra also deals with aesthetics and beauty, though these aren’t highlighted in most videos. From having personal experience on the app, most individuals record low to mid-quality videos and upload them without much thought. This is juxtaposed social media platforms, such as Instagram and YouTube, in which push high-quality and highly edited videos to the front of the algorithm.
TikTok is a gold mine for everyday people that prefer not to doll themselves up for a camera. Though, there are creators on the app that push high-quality content and transition effects. TikTok is also a place where equality and fairness are at the forefront. Creators are big on speaking out against corruption, poor business practices, and unfair treatment of an individual. Libra is known for telling and/or showing the other side of a situation. However, I believe that there is more evidence supporting that TikTok is a Virgo instead of a Libra.
To welcome in April, let’s look to what else is going on in the sky. The Sun has recently entered Aries on March 20th, ushering in bundles of energy and action. On March 21st, a New Moon in Aries took place; starting new cycles in regards to self-awareness, independence, identity, life direction, and self-nourishment.
Mars left the witty and communicative nature of Gemini and entered the emotional, intuitive sign of Cancer on March 25th. It is important to face emotions head-on throughout this transit, as bottling up emotions can lead to lash outs and violent outbursts.
Mercury left the fast and direct sign of Aries for the calm and grounded sign of Taurus on April 3rd . This is a great time to slow down and put focus towards personal income, self-worth and value, the immediate family, and self-replenishment. Mercury in Taurus is great for creating ideas in regards to establishing multiple sources of income and for spreading information in regards to how to acquire resources independently.
The Full Moon in Libra too place on April 6th, the day before Good Friday. This highlighted themes of relationships, partnerships, interpersonal connection, business, business contracts, marriage, and union.
In April Venus will be leaving its home sign of Taurus and ingressing into Gemini, prioritising
stimulation, intellect, communication, and sharing information through self-replenishment
and relationships.
Jupiter will still be in Aries; bringing expansion and experience to self-awareness, independence, identity, life direction, and self-nourishment. Saturn entered Pisces on March 7th , which brings structure, organisation, and consistency to spiritual development, trusting in the unknown, solitude, and subconscious work.
Saturn in Pisces also strives to make people’s dreams and desires a tangible reality through hard work, persistence, and dedication. With Saturn being at the beginning of Pisces, this may place restriction on people’s dreams and desires. It can also bring a realistic vision that reality can only change when one puts forth the action.
Individuals going through their Saturn Return have nothing to worry about as long as they are learning the lessons of Saturn and putting forth the work needed.
Uranus will still be in Taurus, causing disruption and shake-ups to the economy, as well as awakening people to the truth of their personal worth and value.
Neptune is still in its home sign of Pisces, giving us something to believe in as well as something to look forward to.
