This truly one-off handmade piece of useable art in the form of a King’s Coronation Chair celebrates the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla on the 6th of May, 2023.
The chair has been traditionally made, using a selection of artisan tailors and upholsterers. Utilising an antique high-back mahogany chair frame, craftsmen have covered it in a rich Royal Purple velvet from their Saville Row supplier of fabrics to the monarch.
The chair is draped with a cream silk-lined, faux ermine-trimmed robe and adorned with a .5 carat box-set baguette diamond pin, set in silver together with an antique Fabergé-style diamond-set Royal Purple enamel egg pin brooch.
It rests on “Parade Black” painted splayed legs with floor protectors. Finishing off the piece is a detachable King Charles embroidered chest insignia.
